Phillip has just acquired a new Jack Russell following the death of his beloved Mr. Pig. Mr. Pig would follow Philip to work and sit like a window dressing in the window. People would think him a toy until he would snarl at approaching customers, unable to understand why they should be allowed to enter what he believe to be his property. Phillip Treacy reasoned, this was not just home, but a place to sell hats. Mr. Pig gruntingly complied…..He became a know fixture to the store. His appropriately lavish funeral was attended by an illustrious crowd.

Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla. She loves dogs especially Jack Russell’s. She owns some, herself. The first time I met her, she had made an appointment at the shop. She arrived early. As I approached, I noticed Mr. Pig kneeling and staring adoringly at somebody. He did not like many people so I knew immediately I liked this person though I had not even met her yet.

Mimoo Carey and Jack Jnr

Perez Hilton calls Mariah Carey 'Mimoo', I'm unsure why and don't really care, but she owns a couple of JR's. And rather unimaginatively the older one is called 'Jack' (groan). The pup is called Jack Jnr.

In the above two pictures you see Jack is being taunted with a water bottle on the Rosie O'Connell show by Mimoo. There's video on Youtube if you really must see a celebrity not cope with a Jack Russell temprement. Having been through the 'dog rules you' situation I do sympathise (a little) but as my friend just said 'she has all that money, can't she pay someone to train the dog'.

Singing and shaking Jack Russells!


You either love or hate this advert - I'm not terribly fond of it, but it did it's job, and got loads of people talking about it. One dog loving friend of mine was a little disturbed by the shaking JR. I had to explain that my Daisy shakes like that when I take her to the park in the morning. She's just a little cold, and when she stands she shakes.

There are rumours that the advert was taken off air because of complaints, but VW said it had run it's course. You can read more about it here on SkyNews. Or watch the the advert.

When you're the proud benefactor of two Jack Russell's, you tend to notice JR's wherever you go.

They appear everywhere - on TV, with celebrities, and there are lots where I live (in the inner city) there's no shortage of them.

I have a bit of ponchant for collecting things, so here's my homage to the wonderfully clever, manipulative terriers we love.
